Xabi Alonso's words when interviewed by Bild didn't take long to get a reaction from Real Madrid followers and even from the players themselves.
According to 'El Partido de las 12', the player has spoken with Cristiano Ronaldo to apologise if the Portuguese has felt offended. Xabi Alonso explained to the Real forward that what he said was, "The winner has to be a German or Cristiano".
Cristiano's reaction was quite calm. He assured the Spaniard that he understood perfectly and that he could rest easy – no offence had been taken. However, Xabi maintains what he said about Iker and has not plans to give him a conciliatory call.
