Real racing to beat off Barça and Villarreal for Asensio

bright future
'LOS BLANCOS' HAVE MET WITH PRODIGY'S AGENT

The sharks keep circling around Mallorca starlet Marco Asensio.Real Madrid and Villarreal look to have jumped ahead in the queue to sign one of the most highly rated prospects in Spain, a player Barcelona previously offered 2 million euros for.
Last week the young winger's agent, Horacio Gaggioli, held talks with Mallorca and the interested clubs to discuss the situation ahead of the January transfer window. It has since emerged that the 18-year-old has said that he doesn't want to go anywhere until at least the end of the season and has not ruled out staying on another year if the club gets promoted back to the top flight. In exchange, the 'Bermellones' are believed to have agreed to let Asensio go for 4m euros.
Real Madrid don't want to pass up the opportunity to snap up one of the most exciting young players in Spanish football and have told Gaggioli as much, but are apparently baulking at the idea of forking out 4m euros to get him. What they would be willing to do is loan the wideman back to Mallorca for the rest of the campaign if they do sign him.
It is worth remembering that Asensio currently pockets a measly 16,000 euros a year under the terms of his youth contract. His official release clause presently stands at 4.5m euros, but this figure will automatically double to 9m euros on 30th June 2015.
