52 GOALS BETWEEN STAR FORWARDS

Bueno is the man of the moment in Vallecas, where he is admired and adored because of what he represents. The same cannot be said of Cristiano, the ultimate exponent of modern football. Both share a common passion on the pitch, however - scoring goals. Pichichi and Zarra would be proud of the two men who lead the way in the individual awards that bear their names for the top scoring player and Spaniard in La Liga respectively.

After his five-goal haul against Granada, the 29-year-old moved up to 36 for the campaign, returning to pole position in the Pichichi and Golden Shoe standings in the process, as well as providing a morale boost for himself and his teammates. All three of Ronaldo's previous visits to Vallecas have been most productive, with him scoring in each and his overall record reads nine goals in seven outings against Rayo.

Bueno's record on the Vallecas turf is also impressive, with ten of his 16 league goals this season coming in front of a raucous home crowd that will try to encourage their star man to repeat his strike against the Champions League holders from earlier in the season, and if possible, to improve on it.

The leaders in the Zarra and Pichichi standings have a combined 52 La Liga goals between them and will go head to head in the compact Estadio de Vallecas tonight. Few would bet against that figure going up before the night is out.
